Mark Llewellyn Powhatan VA Death and Obituary – Mark Llewellyn, age 60, of Powhatan, Virginia, tragically lost his life in a fatal traffic accident on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Known throughout the community for his unwavering dedication to faith, family, and service, Mark’s passing marks the end of an era for Powhatan and for all those whose lives he touched.
For more than four decades, Mark was the heart and soul of Llewellyn’s Towing and Repair, a trusted, family-run business that he helped grow through tireless effort and a deep commitment to helping others. More than just a mechanic, Mark was a dependable friend, neighbor, and mentor. Whether responding to roadside emergencies or helping someone get safely home, his willingness to serve never wavered. His signature “get ’er done” attitude defined his approach to both work and life.
Mark was known for his candid, no-nonsense demeanor—delivering hard truths with humor, compassion, and wisdom. Despite his gruff exterior, those who knew him best recognized a man with a deeply generous heart. He was someone who would show up without being asked, offer comfort when words failed, and give all he had to those in need.
Faith was central to Mark’s life. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, he lived his beliefs daily, showing kindness, humility, and love to everyone he encountered. As a long-time member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, his walk with God was steady and sincere. He was a living example of the scripture, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23), and his legacy of faith continues to inspire.
At the center of Mark’s world was his beloved wife of 25 years, Kim. Their marriage was a true partnership grounded in faith, mutual respect, and enduring love. Together, they faced life’s challenges with courage and celebrated its blessings with gratitude. Their union was a source of strength and a model for others.
Mark is also survived by his siblings—Ernie Llewellyn (Candy), Penny Henry (Gordon), and Tim Llewellyn (Cathy)—and a close-knit family of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who remember him as “Uncle Mark,” a source of warmth, humor, and steady support. He was especially proud of his role in their lives, showing up for every celebration, every milestone, and every moment that mattered.
Among his closest friends was Mark Swineford, with whom he shared a bond of brotherhood that spanned decades. Their friendship was built on trust, laughter, and shared values—a testament to Mark’s capacity for lasting, loyal relationships.
The community will honor Mark’s life with visitation on Sunday, May 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at Gospel Light Baptist Church.
Though his life ended too soon, Mark Llewellyn’s legacy of faith, service, and love remains firmly rooted in the hearts of those he left behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched.
