Born on July 17, 2008, in Breese, Macy was the beloved daughter of Sara (née Wuebbels) Haar and Colby Haar. She grew up surrounded by love and support, making a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. As a Junior at Central Community High School in Breese, Macy excelled academically but was most renowned for her compassionate spirit. Her kindness and work ethic were exemplary, earning her respect and admiration from teachers, peers, and community members alike.
Beyond her academic achievements, Macy was committed to making a positive difference. She was an honorary committee member of the Jared Burke Foundation, a cause close to her heart. Macy also worked at Jodie’s Daycare in Damiansville, where her natural ability to connect with children made her a beloved figure among the families she served. Her caring presence brought joy and comfort to the young children under her care, further illustrating her innate kindness and selflessness.
Macy’s love for music, family, and her community was at the core of her being. She found joy in the simple moments of life, and those who knew her will remember her radiant smile and her unwavering generosity. In addition to her parents and brother, Macy is survived by her maternal grandparents, Ed and Sharon (née Reinhardt) Wuebbels, and her great-grandmother, Pat (née Vollmer) Reinhardt. She is also deeply mourned by a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, James and Gerri (née Hermeling) Haar, and her aunt, Sheila Wuebbels.
In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, Macy’s family finds solace in the knowledge that she was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, with Fr. James Buerster presiding. Macy will be laid to rest at St. Boniface Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, May 14, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to an Education Fund for Max (checks payable to Sara Haar) or to the Jared Burke Foundation. These contributions can be given during the visitation or mailed to Moss Funeral Home at 535 N 5th St., Breese, IL 62230.
