Phil Hibbert Ryhope Colliery Sunderland Death: Phil Hibbert, Dedicated Husband and Beloved Father Dies at 44

Phil Hibbert Ryhope Colliery Sunderland Death – It is with great sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of Phil Hibbert on 21st June 2025, at just 44 years old. Phil’s unexpected departure has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A man of warmth, humour, and boundless kindness, Phil was truly one of a kind.

Phil was, above all, a devoted father to his daughter, Amelia. His love for her was unwavering, and she remained the centre of his world. Phil found immense joy in being a dad—always present, always supportive, and endlessly proud. Amelia brought him his greatest happiness, and he never missed a chance to speak of her with glowing admiration.

He also shared a loving and deeply committed partnership with Rachael, his soulmate and constant companion. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and meaningful moments. Their relationship was grounded in mutual respect, support, and affection—qualities that were evident to all who spent time with them.

Phil was born and raised in Ryhope, Sunderland, to Jean and the late John Hibbert. His close bond with his mother remained steadfast throughout his life, and his late father’s influence shaped his values, sense of humour, and strength of character. Phil’s siblings—Jon, Lee, and Clare—shared an unbreakable connection with him, filled with laughter, teasing, and lifelong support.

A beloved uncle to Sean, Jade, Bethany, Becky, Morgan, Gina, Sammy, Katelyn, Nathan, and Olivia, Phil had a remarkable way of connecting with young and old alike. He was both a playful presence and a reliable figure, loved dearly by his nieces and nephews. His role as brother-in-law and friend was marked by his generosity, his ready wit, and his natural warmth.

Phil brought joy wherever he went—whether sharing a drink and a laugh at the local pub or lending a hand to someone in need. His sincerity and good nature earned him lasting friendships across all walks of life. He will be remembered for his open heart, infectious laughter, and the countless ways he brought people together.

A service to celebrate Phil’s life will be held at Sunderland Crematorium on Monday, 14th July at 11:30am, with all friends and family warmly invited. Following the service, attendees are welcome to join the family at The Derwenthurst to continue honouring Phil’s life through shared stories, memories, and celebration.

In tribute to Phil’s favourite colour, guests are encouraged to wear a splash of blue. The family kindly requests family flowers only; however, donations to a chosen charity will be gratefully received, with a donation box available at the service.

Phil Hibbert leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the lives he touched will continue to shine brightly.
