Yesterday morning, our world grew dimmer with the heartbreaking loss of Emma Barnett, a beloved athlete, teammate, coach, and friend. Emma’s life was a beacon of love, joy, and determination, and though her time here was far too short, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
Emma was the heartbeat of her gym and the soul of her community. Always the first to arrive—often setting up two nets by herself—and the last to leave, she gave her all every single day. Her smile and laughter could brighten the darkest of rooms, and her kindness made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. To Weslee and Remi, and to countless young athletes, she was not only a coach but also a role model who poured her heart into helping others grow.
Beyond her athletic talents, Emma’s greatest gift was the way she loved people. Friends and teammates recall her positivity, her strength, and her unwavering belief in living a good life. She often spoke of her faith and the afterlife, and it brings comfort to know that she is now at peace in the arms of Jesus.
Emma’s absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, but her legacy of joy, love, and dedication will forever echo in the lives she touched. She was truly one of a kind, and though gone too soon, she will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Emma. We love you—always.
