He was healthy, full of life, and simply out for a ride when everything changed. James Sullivan, 49, was cycling through the Shepherds Hill Roundabout in Woodley, Reading, on August 29 when he was struck by a grey Hyundai i20 around 4:45 p.m. BST.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and Sullivan was transported to hospital with severe injuries. Despite intensive medical treatment, he died days later, leaving his family and community in shock.
