In 2024, Mario was recognized nationally by Softball Canada – CASA as Coach of the Year, a distinction earned after guiding the Québec U17 Men’s Team to a gold medal at the Canadian Championship held in his home region. That same season, he also made an impact with the Rocket de Chaudière-Appalaches U15 Girls, leading them to silver at the Provincial Championships and bronze at the Canadian Eastern Championships.

His momentum carried into 2025, where he led the Québec U20 Men’s Team to a bronze medal at the Canadian Championship and a historic silver medal at the Canada Games—matching the best result ever achieved in the history of Québec men’s softball. Mario also continued mentoring the Rockets U17 Team, a testament to his tireless dedication to developing the next generation.

Mario’s passing leaves a tremendous void, but his legacy of humanity, leadership, and sporting excellence will continue to inspire athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers for years to come.
