Kansas Man Fatally Stabs Grandmother After Argument Over Laundry

A Wichita man is facing serious charges after allegedly stabbing his grandmother during an argument about laundry.

Police say 24-year-old Isaiah Langkiet attacked 64-year-old Elvera Langkiet inside her home on August 30, then called 911 to confess.

Responding officers found Elvera lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds to the neck. Before she died, she reportedly told police her grandson was the attacker, saying he “has demons.”

Investigators said the argument began after Elvera criticized how Isaiah did his laundry. Enraged, he allegedly slapped her, grabbed an 8-inch kitchen knife, and stabbed her twice before walking away.

Elvera was rushed to the hospital but died days later, on September 3. Isaiah is now held at the Sedgwick County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

He faces multiple charges, including first-degree attempted murder and domestic battery. Police called the attack “brutal and deeply disturbing.”
