Shock and heartbreak have gripped the community of Savanna-la-Mar after the body of 29-year-old Kerrian Malcolm was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase near Gully Banks on Saturday morning.
Malcolm, a resident of Barracks Road, had been reported missing since Thursday night, October 2, after she was last seen at her home around 11:00 p.m. wearing a brown sleeveless blouse and blue-and-white shorts.
According to police, residents stumbled upon the suitcase and immediately alerted authorities. Investigators later confirmed the remains as those of Malcolm, whose death has been ruled a murder.
Detectives from the Westmoreland Police Division are leading the investigation, though no suspects have yet been identified. Officials say the discovery points to clear signs of foul play.
