A devastating early-morning crash claimed the life of 38-year-old Jeremy, a beloved resident of Rayne, whose sudden passing has left family, friends, and the entire community heartbroken.
According to authorities, the fatal accident occurred just after 3:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, along the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, east of Exit 87. Investigators reported that Jeremy was driving his red 2022 Chevrolet pickup when it slammed into the back of a parked red 2021 Volvo semi-truck hauling a white trailer.
The semi, leased to Level Up Express LLC, had been left on the highway shoulder about 300 feet from the exit ramp. The driver was not at the scene, and police are now working to locate them to determine why the vehicle had been left unattended.
Emergency responders arrived within minutes, but tragically, Jeremy died instantly from the impact. The wreckage scattered debris across several lanes, forcing authorities to temporarily close a section of the interstate while reconstruction teams investigated.
