A tragic accident on Interstate 83 in Fairview Township has left family and friends mourning the loss of Marco Ambrocio Gonzalez, 33, of Harrisburg, who was killed in a fiery crash on the morning of September 28.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred around 7:44 a.m. when a southbound vehicle struck a concrete barrier near Exit 40. The force of the impact ruptured the fuel tank, sparking flames that quickly engulfed the car. Inside were Gonzalez and two passengers in their 20s.
Bystanders who witnessed the crash bravely rushed to the burning vehicle, pulling all three men from the wreckage before first responders arrived. Despite their heroic efforts, Gonzalez suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The York County Coroner determined his cause of death as blunt force trauma and ruled the manner of death accidental.
